Is PureTime legit?
Yes, and their warranty is handled better than most in this market. The catch is that their own page rules out refunds entirely.
What they get right
Two things, and both are real. The first is the warranty. PureTime publishes 6 months on all watches, and more importantly they say what happens when you claim: they repair free and ship the watch back to you free, and you pay only the postage to send it in. Most sellers here make you pay the postage in both directions, which quietly makes a small repair not worth claiming.
The second is candour about crypto. Their own page warns: “It is the nature of Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies that all transactions are final with no method of chargeback or recourse for the sender of the funds.” A seller offering a 5 percent discount for Bitcoin has every incentive to leave that unsaid. They say it anyway.
The catch: no refunds
Their customer service page states it plainly: “Unfortunately our items are non-refundable and non-exchangeable for another item or returnable for store credit.”
Read that as written. It is not a restocking fee, and it is not a narrow window. If the watch arrives and you simply do not want it, there is no route back. The two exceptions they publish are narrow:
- An item that is out of stock or cannot be delivered in time is refunded
- A parcel confiscated in customs is refunded or reshipped, buyer’s choice
This makes the QC photographs the only inspection you will ever get, which raises the stakes on the next point considerably.
Silence ships the watch
PureTime sends photographs of the actual watch, plus timing accuracy and, where the listing claims it, a waterproof test. That is a genuinely thorough set, better than most. But you then have 24 hours to reply. Silence counts as a yes and the parcel goes out on its own. Combined with a no-refund policy, a missed email is final in a way it is not at most sellers.
The discounts are the trade
5 percent for Bitcoin, 3 percent for Western Union, Wise or MoneyGram. Every one of those is irreversible, which their own warning spells out. On a $1,200 watch the Bitcoin discount is $60, and what you hand over for it is the ability to recover $1,200.
The payment page works through that arithmetic.
PureTime Asia, Angus, and which name is real
Two searches come up constantly. The first is puretime asia, because the shop has traded under more than one address and people are trying to work out which is current. The second is angus puretime, because buyers deal with named representatives and search the person rather than the shop.
You will not find their link or their staff accounts here. Sending a buyer to a rival till, and then calling the page a review, is not a trade we are willing to make. The useful part is this. A shop running under several names is the exact condition in which copies breed, so confirm the chat account, not only the shop front, before any money moves.
What buyers have posted
3 public threads sit in r/RepTime, and most of them are buyers putting the same question this page answers. PureTime also states of itself: “PureTime is the very first Trusted Dealer to let you pay with Bitcoins”. Nothing we can reach confirms that, so it stays on the page as their claim and nothing more.
Would we buy there
Order with a card, keep the QC message in sight, and count the sale as closed the moment you approve. On those terms, yes. Dispatch to door runs 7 to 10 business days.
